Greener Job Posting: The Nature Conservancy Beijing

The Nature Conservancy in Beijing is currently looking to fill two positions.

1) China Partnership Specialist (Download file here)

The Partnership Specialist works to develop and leverage strong partner relationships with governments, NGOs, community organizations, indigenous groups, national affiliates of international conservation and development organizations, scientific/research organizations, business and private sector and others to advance the Conservancy’s mission. S/he works closely with Country Program staff, Regional technical specialists, and other Conservancy professionals to implement systems and processes that support these strategic partnerships. Specific systems and processes include: partner scoping and identification, partner profiles and organizational lifecycle stages, partner selection and engagement, facilitation of agreements, work-planning and on-going partner relations, partner communications, organizational assessments, strengthening technical and organisational capacities, and integration of financial management/grants training activities. S/he systematically implements outcomes and impact measures with project managers to indicate the progress and/or obstacles of programs in achieving leverage through partnerships. S/he works as part of a team to raise funds for partnership initiatives and/or specific projects, by providing input for proposal writing, negotiating with bilateral and multilateral agencies, and cultivating donors, as needed.

2) North Asia External Affairs Director (Download file here)

The Director of External Affairs and Policy for North Asia is responsible for establishing the policy agenda, partnership strategy and public funding program for The Nature Conservancy’s conservation work in the North Asia Pacific Region, under the supervision of the Conservancy’s Regional Managing Director for North Asia. Working with major public institutions, governments in the region, multilateral agencies, NGOs, public officials, influential individuals and TNC staff, the Director will position the Conservancy within the region with opinion leaders and institutions as a leading organization for global conservation work. Based on an understanding of how the Conservancy’s action complements the work of other NGOs, governments and conservation organizations, s/he will establish and articulate to policy and funding audiences a compelling vision of how biodiversity conservation and the Conservancy’s specific projects contribute to regional and global development goals, environmental objectives and human wellbeing.
